NEW BERLIN — SUN Area Technical Institutes electronics technology program, under the guidance of Leonard Schwartz, has risen the bar of excellence again. The school has a very strong history of placing students within global and local companies, such as A.A.I., a major contractor for unmanned military applications (drone); Harris Incorporated out of Florida, Toshiba Medical out of Massachusetts, local swipe card giant Brush Industries of Sunbury, Corning Glass Incorporated — fiber optics division, Susquehanna University audio/video department, local builder Excel Homes, local health care magnate Geisinger Health Systems, ADT Security Systems of Pittsburgh, NAPA Technical Sales, Letter Kenney Army Depot, and ESPN out of White Plains, N.Y.
These success stories include attaining 12 college credits while attending SUN Tech during their senior year (in some cases their junior year). These high achieving students knock out a whole semester of college (monetary savings, as well), while staying on top of their studies within SUN Tech and is very often the case holding down a part-time job to offset future college expenses. Electronics instructor Schwartz leads by example with his strong work ethic that the current SUN Tech students “buy into” and create a strong sense of team work that is very attractive to future college recruiters and Fortune 500 Companies, large and small.
