The Daily Item

Name: Taylor Fazzini

School: Shikellamy High

Parents: Hal and Lori Fazzini

Hometown: Sunbury

My talent or hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar, making jewelry, playing tennis and reading.

Among the leadership positions I have held: I’m president of Spanish Club and vice president of Chess Club. Last year I was junior representative for marching band.

Among my special achievements and awards: I’m a graduate of Building Leaders for the Susquehanna Valley. Last year, I was inducted into National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society.

How I have given back to the community: I participate in my church’s food pantry. I also created a library donation program at my school. I spend a few hours a week recycling with the National Honor Society.

My plans upon graduation: I’m going to college to earn a master’s degree in aerospace engineering. I hope to work with Lockheed Martin or NASA.

Why I was selected as a Young American: I’m very dedicated to both my academics and the various clubs and activities I participate in. I’m always striving to better myself, not just as a student, but as a member of the community. I do my best to help everyone around me.

What you should know about me: Over the years I’ve come to realize how truly lucky we are in America. We have running water, electricity and schools for our children; other countries don’t have near the opportunities we are given. Because of this, I try my best to be thankful for everything I have.
