SUN Tech Takes Team Approach

— NEW BERLIN -- SUN Area Technical Institute’s Joe Weisser, pictured, makes delivery of a masonry and carpentry student’s sitting bench to Shikellamy High School. SUN Tech students made benches from scratch for all five sending high sSchools: Lewisburg, Shikellamy, Midd-West, Selinsgrove and Mifflinburg. SUN Tech’s masonry program made the concrete forms, advanced wood and carpentry programs planed, cut and engraved the wood, advanced machining program machined the hardware on the benches. This SUN team approach created a project for all communities to enjoy. Many observers upon delivery were impressed with the craftsmanship and the fact that the benches were created by using all four programs and not outsourcing finished products. SUN Tech is in the business of creating innovative students minds, with various emphasis on skilled craftsmanship, work ethic achievement, timely project deadlines, and multi-tasking to maintain a current and upcoming workforce for years to come.
