'SHAKIN'' conference promotes leadership

COAL TOWNSHIP — The Northumberland County Career and Technology Center, one of the many Career and Technology Centers in Pennsylvania, will play host to the Annual Mini-Conference Pa. Central Region Chapters of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) on Friday, Oct. 25. The title of the conference is “SHAK’N the FOUNDATION”

FCCLA is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Science Education in public and private school through grade 12.

The school, located at 1700 Montgomery St., Coal Township, will be the site of a conference that promotes leadership, responsibility, skill development, planning, goal setting, problem solving and interpersonal communication. The expected number of participants is 165+ and numerous career and technical centers from throughout Central Pennsylvania will be involved in the conference activities.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and conference adjournment is scheduled for 1:45 p.m.
