The Moyer Institute of Dance will present its spring performance at 3 p.m. May 19 in the Shikellamy High School auditorium. The show will feature a variety of dance styles, from contemporary, Irish tap, jazz, hip-hop and classical ballet as well as the over-28 adult tap/jazz/ballet class.
A bake sale will be held in the lobby with all proceeds going to assist talented and underprivileged children in continuing their dance education.
Tickets will be available at the door.
The Moyer Institute of Dance will next perform at noon May 25 at the Heritage Festival in Shamokin.
The dancers are currently raising money to donate to the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital for Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger in Danville. Available for purchase are “Dance for Miracles” T-shirts. They will perform at 10 a.m. during the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon at Geisinger.
The Moyer Institute of Dance, a family-owned and operated dance school, is celebrating its 60th year in the Central Susquehanna Valley. In 2012, Joan Moyer Clark retired and her daughter, Kitty Moyer, now runs the schools.
