— Private Reece W. Metzger, 18, of Milton, graduated from Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, on Dec. 13. Private Metzger successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training as one of 70 recruits in Training Platoon 3098. While in recruit training, he obtained the coveted “Crossed Rifles” of the rifle expert badge scoring a 329 out of possible 350. Following 10 days home on leave, he will report to Camp LeJeune for one month at Military Combat Training then Military Occupation Specialty School.
