NORTHUMBERLAND — June 4 kicks off the 2013 season at Liberty Splashland in Northumberland as a free admission day. A municipal waterpark, located at 175 Prince Street, Liberty Splashland offers shallow swimming, lap lanes, 1 meter diving, double drop slides, the Spray Zone sprayground, the Dump Tower, lounge chairs, the Liberty Cafe and the only bowl slide at a municipally owned and operated park in Pennsylvania, called the Liberty Bowl.
Hours are daily from 11 a.m. to 6p.m. The park will be offering swimming lessons and lifeguard certification classes this summer. Employment opportunities exist for motivated individuals.
Season passes for individuals are the best value and range between $37.50 and $50 with children ages 5 and under free. Passes can be purchased at the borough office at 175 Orange St. in Northumberland until May 17 at a discount of 10 percent off. Office hours are weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Wednesday closing at noon. Passes can also be purchased online at Libertysplashland.com. Daily rates are $6 for those 52-inches and taller, $5 for under 52-inches, $4 for seniors age 55 and older, and Dry Dock admission. Ages 5 and under are free.
