Sunbury’s National Night Out, sponsored by the Sunbury Police Department and Crime Watch, will be held Aug. 6 from 5-9 p.m. in Cameron Park, downtown Sunbury.
The public is invited to come to the park and meet city officials and members of the Sunbury Police Department, neighborhood organizations, civic groups and local businesses. There will also be free hot dogs and water, while supplies last.
City residents are urged to show their support for the program by turning on their porch lights.
According to the National Night Out planner Connie Beegle, this year’s event will be the largest one ever held in the city. “The National Night Out program has been an effective and enjoyable program to help promote a community and police partnership in our fight for a safer community,” said Beegle.
