Rain forest animals stars of show

SUNBURY — “Live on Stage: The Rain Forest” will be presented April 3 at Oaklyn Elementary and April 4 at Chief Shikellamy Elementary. Each day’s show begins at 6:30 p.m.

This comedy animal show presented by the non-profit organization Understanding Wildlife, Inc., educates and inspires people to get involved and make the world a better place to live — for people and animals alike.

The program features a range of animals including alligators, monkeys, macaws, snakes, jungle cats and cockatoos.

Founder and director Mike Kohlrieser’s father was a professional animal trainer so he spent his childhood learning the profession. In the ’80s, Mike and his wife Marcia became aware of the problems in the tropical rain forests so using his skills as an animal trainer and stage entertainer, Mike developed this program to educate people about the rain forest animals facing possible extinction.

Tickets are $5, children under age 3 admitted free. Tickets will be available at the door.
