SCRANTON (AP) _ A woman in a wheelchair at a residence for retired nuns told Ethyl Kennedy she once drove through a red light to see her late husband, Robert F. Kennedy.
The 80-year-old Ethyl Kennedy visited Our Lady Queen of Peace Residence at Marywood University on a campaign tour Thursday for Sen. Barack Obama.
Kennedy, her daughter Rory and son Max piled into cars at 5:30 a.m. with local officials and backers. The group stopped at diners, doughnut shops and senior centers in Moosic, Scranton and Dunmore to support Obama in Tuesday's Democratic primary race against Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Max Kennedy says his family values loyalty. But he says, "My mother has put the future of this country ahead of her friendship with the Clintons."
