Officials say an ambulance driver en route from an accident scene in northwestern Pennsylvania rolled the vehicle after suffering an apparent medical emergency.
The crash happened around 7:45 a.m. Thursday in Waterford Township, near Erie. Stancliff Hose Co. Assistant Chief Harry Latta says one injured person was inside when the driver lost control and rolled the ambulance on its roof.
A former emergency responder who happened to be behind the ambulance tells the Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/Q42ojw ) she and a nurse jumped in to help right away. She called the scene "chaos."
Four other people were inside the ambulance besides the driver and injured patient. Conditions on all six people were not immediately available.
