MIFFLINBURG — It was a battle of text messages in Mifflinburg that landed Charity Miller in the emergency room, authorities said.

Miller, 19, of 2801 Buffalo Road, Lewisburg, and Amanda Kapp, 19, of 134 12th St., Northumberland, were texting each other during an argument over an issue concerning a mutual male friend when they agreed to meet at Mazeppa Union Church to fight, police said.

According to reports, Miller and Kapp met behind the church at about 8:30 p.m. Jan. 5. Kapp allegedly hit Miller in the face and head. Miller allegedly hit back, but fell to the ground, and Kapp kicked her.

Both teenagers were cited with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Miller was treated at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
