NEW RINGGOLD -- Barry Miller Hackenberg, 66, of South Reeser Street, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007, at his residence.

He was born in Penns Creek, a son of the late Charles Lee and Mabel (Miller) Hackenberg.

Mr. Hackenberg taught social studies at North Schuylkill High School in Fountain Springs for 22 years.

He was affiliated with St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua.

Surviving are his former spouse, Elaine (Schraeder) Hackenberg of Hometown; two sons, Erick D. and his wife Nichole of Palmyra, Va., and Justen D. of Elizabethtown, Ky.; four grandchildren; a brother, Robert L. of Chatham, N.J.; and a sister, Jeanette Herman and her husband Luther of Newark, Del.

Visitors may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, where a fraternal/evening service will be conducted at 6 p.m. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua.

Burial will be in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown.
