SUNBURY -- Bertha Eileen Hestor, 82, of 2767 Route 890, formerly of Trevorton Road, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, after a long-term illness. Bertha lived with her niece and nephew, Jeanne and Stanley Rozowski, for the past year.
She was born March 27, 1928, in West Cameron, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Bertha V. (Derck) Lenig. Bertha was married on Dec. 14, 1946, in Gowen City to William T. Hestor, who preceded her in death on July 8, 1982.
Bertha lived many years on Trevorton Road. She attended West Cameron and Trevorton schools.
She was employed in the local textile industry for many years.
Bertha was a member of Bethel Union Chapel, West Cameron, were she served as church secretary for more than 20 years.
She was a member of the Christian Women's Club and attended Shikellamy art classes for many years.
She enjoyed crafts, gardening, crocheting and family functions.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Opal Lenig, of Sunbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John E. and Charles W. Lenig.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Dave Butler officiating.
Burial will be Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township.
