BEAVERTOWN — Edna M. Koh, 69, of East Market Street, passed away at 10:44 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Aug. 12, 1939, in Beavertown, a daughter of the late James and Pauline Peters Kern.
She was a 1957 graduate of the West Snyder High School and a 1961 graduate of Bloomsburg State Teachers College.
Edna had taught school for several years before beginning employment with the Klein Reinforcing Services, Rochester, N.Y. She retired in 2004 and returned to Beavertown.
She was a very active member of St. Paul's Reformed Church of Beavertown, where she was currently church council president, and organized a Bible study group.
Edna was a voracious reader and an avid history buff, and had an extensive scrapbook collection in conjunction with her history research.
She is survived by one niece, Kelly Heckman of Middleburg, and one nephew, Rodney Kerstetter of Goose Creek, S.C.; six great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew; one aunt, Fay Walters; and two uncles, John and Paul Peters; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Orval Kerstetter.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Reformed Church of Beavertown with the Rev. Nancy Moyer officiating.
