BEAVERTOWN — The Junior Girl Scout Troop 1105 from Beavertown recently presented 16 activity bags to Susquehanna Valley Women in Transition to give to children whose parents are utilizing SVWIT services.
The girls picked out the fabric, cut and sewed the draw-string bags, and filled each with a school folder, notebook paper, pens, pencils, erasers, crayons, paper clips, facial tissues, and lollipops.
The girls were finishing their sewing badge at the same time.
On Monday, April 28, SVWIT caseworker Tara, who did not want her last name published, presented a video to the Junior and Cadette/Senior Girl Scout Troops in Beavertown.
The presentation was on "Internet Safety: Things You Should Know."
All the girls indicated that they had learned some new ideas on keeping themselves safe from potential internet predators.
