DANVILLE— Seventeen Geisinger nurses and partners in care were recently recognized for outstanding performance and dedication to their patients.
The Geisinger Nurse Excellence Awards were simulcast via teleconference at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) and Geisinger Wyoming Valley(GWV) in Wilkes-Barre on May 5. The awards ceremony marked the kickoff of Geisinger's 2008 Nurses Week celebration.
This year, 17 winners were chosen from a pool of nearly 100 nominees from across the health system. They included:
Nursing Partners/Clerical — Melina Vishnefski, of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre (GSWB); Unlicensed Nursing Partners — Gary Housknecht, of GMC; Janice Kozlowski, of GMC; and Sandra Krebs, of GMC; LPN — Donna Kemly, of GMC; Mary Rodgers, of GMG-Scenery Park; and Patricia Searfoss, of GWV; RN — Jack Bogart, of GMC; Adelphine "Delly" Carter, of GMG-Lock Haven; Cathy Holdren, of GMC; Diana Jackson, of GMC; Danette Miller, of GWV; Kristi Sands, of GMC; and Kim Thomas, of GSWB; Extended Practice — Nancy Gordon, of GMC; Scott Oldfield, of GMC; and Deb Ulrich, of GMC.
