SHAMOKIN — Isadora A. Diehl, 84, of Lincoln Towers, 201 Mulberry St., and formerly of Overlook, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Nottingham Village Nursing Home, Northumberland, where she was a resident since Monday.

She was born Jan. 5, 1924, a daughter of the late George and Ruth (Hinkle) Hartzel. She was married to Merlin Lamar "Fat" Diehl, who preceded her in death on April 8, 1996. She moved to Overlook in 1934, and was a resident there till 2001, and then moved to Shamokin.

She was a 1941 graduate of Coal Township High School.

Isadora was employed as a shipper for Shroyer Dress Co. in Shamokin.

She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Overlook, and the International Lady Garment Workers Union.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Mearl Spotts of Overlook; two grandsons, Jeff Spotts of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Gary Spotts and wife Dory of Overlook; two great-grandchildren, Robbie and Kayla Spotts of Overlook; one sister, Almeda Knorr of Danville; and one brother and sister-in-law, Roland and Doris Hartzel of Coal Township.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Franklin.

A viewing will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Overlook, followed by a funeral service at 1, with the Rev. Thomas Morris presiding.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
