LEWISBURG — Evangelical Hospice recently feted its volunteers at its annual Volunteer Luncheon, held at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. During the luncheon, volunteer liaison Terry Stahley, hospice manager Kay Holdren and vice president of nursing Paul Tarves, RN commended the volunteers on the important work they do. Volunteers who have been with the program for five, 10 and 15 years were honored with special certificates. The new "class" of hospice volunteers were also welcomed by the group.
The specially trained Evangelical Hospice Volunteers provide companionship for the patients, respite for the caregivers, and assistance with errands. These volunteers contribute to the family's emotional well-being and help them maintain their physical energy.
