Residents in Mifflintown in Juniata County experienced a 3.4-magnitude earthquake at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The quake, near the border of Juniata and Perry counties, was the only one of five in the state this year with a strength of more than 1.6, according to the United States Geological Survey's earthquake map.

The survey said the quake was felt as far west as Altoona as far east as Lancaster, as far north as Bloomsburg and as far south as Hagerstown Maryland.
