LEWISBURG — A Lewisburg Community Garden’s Planning and Planting workshop will be held at 7 p.m. May 13 at the Public Library for Union County, located at 255 Reitz Blvd.; registration is not needed. Bucknell biology professor Mark Spiro will cover planning, planting, rotating, and season extension of your garden.
This workshop is part of a monthly workshop series to be offered by the Lewisburg Community Garden and the Public Library for Union County. A different gardening workshop will be offered each month through September of 2014.
A joint project between Bucknell University and the Borough of Lewisburg, the Lewisburg Community Garden is located on the corner of North Water and Saint Anthony’s streets.
The garden features individual plots for groups, families or individuals interested in gardening as well as a larger area worked by student and community volunteers to provide produce for local hot meal programs and other food programs.
