MILTON — Two of the three regions in the Milton Area School District had contested elections for school board members in Tuesday’s general election.

In Region 1, which represents Wards 1, 2 and 3, Republican Kenneth E. Snyder, the lone candidate running, garnered 532 votes to secure the open seat. There were nine write-in votes.

Three candidates ran in Region 2 for two school board seats. Region 2 consists of Wards 4, 5 and West Chillisquaque Township.

The candidates in Region 2 were Republican Christine Rantz, Democrat J. Blue Moser, and Lindsay Kessler, who crossfiled for both the Democratic and Republican lines. Kessler won the season with 591 votes, Rantz, 423, and Blue Moser, 377 according to unofficial results.

In Region 3, which includes White Deer Township in Union County, and Townships of Turbot and East Chillisquaque in Northumberland  County, the two leading voters were Andrew Frederick, a Republican, with 1,120 votes and Democrat Eric Moser, 1,093. In third place was Democrat Tracy E. Bruno with 370 votes. Frederick and Moser earned the two available seats.
