Weather Alert
...ELEVATED RISK OF WILDFIRE SPREAD THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...
The combination of dry and windy conditions this afternoon into
this evening will create an elevated risk of wildfire spread
across the Central Ridge and Valley Region of Pennsylvania, along
with the Middle and Lower Susquehanna Valley.
Minimum relative humidity values this afternoon will range from
35 to 45 percent, accompanied by wind gusts from the southwest to
west that will top 45 mph at times.
Residents are urged to exercise caution if handling any potential
ignition sources, such as machinery, cigarettes, or matches.
If dry grasses and tree litter begin to burn, the fire will have
the potential to spread rapidly.

PA follows CDC mask guidance, unvaccinated still expected to wear masks indoors
HARRISBURG — Vaccinated people no longer have to wear face masks indoors in most cases, but the state is still keeping its mask mandate for unvaccinated people until 70 percent of the adult population has been immunized for COVID-19, Acting Health Secretary Alison Beam said Thursday.
Beam said a March state order indicated that Pennsylvania will follow federal CDC guidance on mask-wearing. So, when the CDC on Thursday announced that vaccinated people don’t need to wear masks except in health care settings and on public transportation, the state’s guidance automatically mirrored the federal guidance, she said.
