Verizon cellphone service has resumed following an outage.
The service outage left Valley residents without cellphone service this evening and officials were encouraging anyone with an emergency to use a landline or go directly to the nearest fire/EMS or law enforcement agency for assistance.
According to Verizon's outage map, wireless customers throughout northeast Pennsylvania were without service.
Northumberland County's 911 center sent out a press release Sunday evening announcing that Northumberland County Fire and EMS units throughout the county were staffed. "If there is an emergency and they are unable to reach out via phone, got to the nearest fire/ems or law enforcement agency for assistance," the release from Director Brandon Ulrich said.
Officials with the Central Susquehanna Regional 911 service, which covers Union and Snyder counties, sent out a similar message.
