DANVILLE — Noah J. Hostetler, 75, of Stamm Road, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at his home.
He was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Enon Valley, a son of the late Joseph L. and Sara I. (Yoder) Hostetler. He was married for 55 years to the former Barbara J. Yoder who survives.
A retired farmer, he had also worked at Krum Orchards for more than 10 years and had attended the Lewisburg Farmers Market for many years.
He was a member of the Washingtonville District Old Order Amish Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six sons, John and wife Mary and Jacob and wife Lydiann, all of Union Grove, N.C., Joseph and wife Ella of Danville; Dan and wife Edna of Sarasota, Fla., Aaron and wife Amanda of Apple Creek, Ohio, and Noah and wife Bobbi of Morris; three daughters, Mary and husband Eli Hostetler and Malinda Hostetler, all of Danville, and Rachel and husband Daniel Schwartz of Geneva, Ind.; 51 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Aaron J. Hostetler of Watsontown; and three sisters, Martha Yoder and Lydia Hostetler, both of Turbotville and Veronica Hostetler of Danville.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sara; one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Eli J. and Rudy J. Hostetler.
Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Hostetler residence, 149 Stamm Road, Danville, where the funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will follow in Montour Amish Cemetery, Wertman School Road, Turbotville.
In keeping with Amish tradition, the family requests no flowers and suggests contributions in his memory may be made to the Old Order Amish Hospital Fund, 149 Stamm Road, Danville, PA 17821.
