HONESDALE (AP) — A Wayne County woman has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to murder as part of a family plot to kill her father.
She is 18-year-old Clarissa Ann Luyster of Honesdale. Police say she, her mother, 38-year-old Patricia Luyster, and her then-boyfriend, 19-year-old Cody Steich, worked together. Police say Steich shot and killed 41-year-old Ronald Luyster in his home last year.
Clarissa Luyster pleaded guilty Wednesday in exchange for the district attorney dropping a charge of being an accomplice to first-degree murder. The other two defendants reached plea bargains earlier this year.
Clarissa Luyster’s lawyer says his client pleaded guilty in part because she was concerned about the well-being of her own child.
