WATSONTOWN — The Revival Tabernacle will hold a Power Worship Conference starting at 7 tonight in the church.

Guest host will be Mark Condon, worship pastor, songwriter, musician and director of music ministries at TurnPoint Church, Columbus, Ohio.

The conference is free and open to the public. It will be a time of gathering for pastors, worship leaders, choir members, musicians, sound technicians and singers.

"I am so happy that this is taking place at our church," said Pastor Jill Bond. "Mark is a very gifted man."

Condon has influenced many choirs, worship services and people, including the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Christ Church Choir, Phoenix First Assembly, Bellevue Baptist Choir, Saddleback Choir and World Harvest Church and such artists as Karen Wheaton, Bishop Clarence McClendon, Judy Jacobs and Mike Purkey. Many more have recorded his songs.

Condon also will conduct workshops at the church from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

"We are so happy to have him here and have him able to teach a few workshops for us," Bond said. "We already have several hundred people that are pre-registered to come, so this will be a fun time."

The event is nondenominational.

"I'm thrilled with the prospect of everyone coming together to celebrate," she said. "It's not about any one person or any group of people, it's about a multicultural event with such a diversity in age as well."

Bond said pre-registration is closed, but she encourages people to just show up.

"I would love to see everyone out there come up and celebrate with us," she said. "The more the merrier."

Various Valley groups will perform before Condon takes the stage, including Bucknell University's Voices of Praise, the youth band of First Baptist Church, of Milton, the RevTabs, Thaddeus Davis and the Community Mennonite Choir, of Milton. The Revival Tabernacle Choir will back up Condon on one of his newly released songs.
