DANVILLE — The Good Samaritan Mission Center, at 327 Ferry St., can use a number of items this holiday season.

The requested items include uniforms and other clothing for children, women and men. The center also needs furniture, including mattresses and box springs, dressers and kitchen tables and chairs; and appliances such as washers, dryers, electric ranges and refrigerators.

Volunteers are needed to move furniture, sort clothing and staff the mission center. The center will pick up items. Call 275-2500 for pickups.

Financial donations are needed for crisis funding, rent, utilities and fuel for the needy.

The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays.

Serving on the center board are Sandy O'Rourke, Joanne Faust, Kris Witmer, Betsy Hack, Sister Maria Goretti, Lisa Boedker, Pat Florey, Elaine Long, Robert Marks Sr., Linda Marshall, Beth Martinson, Cheryl Patton, Jesse Reibsome, David Richards Sr. and Walt Shultz.
