ARCHBALD — Valley View held Shamokin scoreless for the first 4:27 of the fourth quarter Saturday, while running off nine straight points on the way to a 53-39 victory over visiting Shamokin in a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association first-round Class 4A boys basketball playoff game.
MILLERSTOWN — Philadelphia-Montgomery County Christian rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit on Friday night to rally for a 46-45 victory over Greenwood in the first round of the PIAA Class A playoffs.
The PIAA boys basketball playoffs tip off tonight with four of the five local qualifiers playing at home or close to home.
MONTOURSVILLE — The Shamokin boys are headed back to the state playoffs.

MONTOURSVILLE — The Northumberland Christian boys didn't take long to punch its ticket back to the state playoffs during Saturday's District 4 Class A semifinal at Montoursville High School.
MILLERSTOWN — Down 21-17 at halftime, Tyler Sherman scored 12 of his 21 points in the second half and overtime as Greenwood beat LaAcademia 51-50 in overtime of the District 3 Class A semifinal on Saturday night at Greenwood High School.
COAL TOWNSHIP — Joe Hile finished with a game-high 19 points for Shamokin as the Indians rolled to a 73-40 win over Montoursville in the District 4 Class 4A quarterfinals on Friday night.
LEWISBURG — When Lewisburg dealt Danville its only loss in the division earlier this season, Lewisburg senior Devin Bodden could only sit and watch.
DANVILLE — There seemingly isn’t anything Dameon White can’t do on a basketball court.
WELLSBORO — Warrior Run had fought valiantly as underdogs on the road against second-seeded Wellsboro Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the PIAA District 4 Class AAA Basketball Tournament.
SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — Marquan Harris' 16 points and Aaron Akers' 11 helped the Mountaineers move on to the District 4 Class 2A semfinials. Caden Harris, Alex Neidig and Lee Habalar scored eight points apiece.
SELINSGROVE — When it comes to playoff basketball, the team that can make adjustments and execute throughout the game often comes out on top.
LIBERTY — The Lourdes Regional boys basketball team dropped a tight matchup to North Penn-Liberty 51-50 in the District 4 Class 1A quarterfinals.

SUNBURY — Brian Britton scored 11 of his game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter as Southern Columbia used a big fourth quarter in a 60-54 victory over Shikellamy at Phil Lockcuff Gymnasium on Monday night.

BERWICK — Shikellamy erupted for 44 points in the second half to topple Berwick 74-62 in a non-conference road game on Saturday night.
ASHLAND — Garrett Varano hit seven 3-pointers and on his way to a game-high 33 points, but the Spartans used balanced scoring and their own big night from long range to pick up the nonleague win.
MILL HALL — Hayden Pardoe scored 11 of his game-high 29 points in third quarter as Central Mountain knocked off Lewisburg, 69-61, in a battle of Heartland Athletic Conference division champions on Friday night.
MILTON — Henry McElroy finished with a game-high 20 points for Norry Christian (18-3) in the ACAA contest.
MILTON — Luke DeLong put in six triples and scored 24 points for the Black Panthers in the HAC-crossover contest.
ST. CLAIR — Freshman Trey Keating had 35 points, including nine 3-pointers, as Nativity won the high-scoring affair.
SUNBURY — Shikellamy kept its faint District 6 Class 5A playoff hopes alive, getting 20 points from senior Mason Deitrich as the Braves knocked off Bellefonte, 58-51, on Thursday night at Phil Lockcuff Gymnasium.
LEWISBURG — Despite being an integral cog in Lewisburg’s basketball program for some 15 years, Dirk Remensnyder never had an opportunity to sit in THAT seat as incarnation after incarnation of Green Dragons squads motored up and down the court.
COAL TOWNSHIP — Behind Alex Hughes' 13 points and Colin Lokitis' 12-point and 14-rebound double-double, Lourdes Regional hung on to defeat Williams Valley, 43-42, in Schuylkill League-Division II action.
COAL TOWNSHIP — Jennsyn Shuey ended the HAC-I contest with a double-double as he scored 11 points and grabbed 12 boards in Shamokin's (15-6, 8-2) win over Milton.
WILLIAMSPORT — Monday night’s contest at the Ron Insinger Gymnasium was a tale of two very different halves of basketball.
ALMEDIA — Andrew Beagle and Jackson Gump each finished with 15 points for the Blue Jays (9-11) in their HAC-crossover victory against Warrior Run. Logan Welkom put up 12 points of his own for Central Columbia.
MIDDLEBURG — Three members of the Wildcats' starting five scored in double figures led by Ethan Bombgardner's 13 points.
MILLERSTOWN — Sam Myers (15 points), Braden Sarver (13), and Ben Brinser (11) all scored in double figures for Greenwood (21-1) in their dominant, 57-18 victory against Belleville Mennonite to close out the regular season on Monday night.
BLOOMSBURG — Nijel Hunter (17 points) and Xzavier Minium (11) combined for 28 points as Milton got back to .500 with 58-38 HAC-crossover win against Bloomsburg on Saturday.
