TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Bucknell senior Mathew Wilson pitched his first complete-game shutout, stunning Florida State 7-0 in the opening round of the Tallahassee Regional on Friday.

Wilson delivered the Patriot League champions their first NCAA postseason victory in seven attempts, limiting the nation's top-hitting team to six hits while getting 16 groundball outs. In the process of collecting his school-record fifth career shutout, he secured just the second 30-win season for the program.

The Bison (30-22-2) will meet Tulane in today's winner's bracket game.

Florida State (48-11), which entered the postseason with more victories than any team in the nation, suffered its first opening-round regional loss since 1992.

Winless in three previous NCAA postseason appearances, Bucknell jumped on Florida State starter Geoff Parker for three runs in the second on the way to a 7-0 lead.

The Bison tagged Parker and reliever Bo O'Dell for 12 hits and seven earned runs through four innings.

Florida State will face rival Florida in an elimination game today. The Seminoles have lost seven consecutive postseason games to the Gators.
