BENTON — Midd-West got off to a slow start, but cruised from there to defeat Benton 52-16 in nonconference boys basketball Saturday.

The Mustangs led the Tigers just 5-1 after the first quarter, but used a 16-3 advantage in the second quarter to take control.

Midd-West (3-7) got a game-high 11 points from Marc Piccioni, and 10 points each from Hunter Wolfley and Carter Knepp.
