DANVILLE — Jury selection is scheduled for Feb. 12 in the trial of a former Geisinger doctor charged with indecent assault of a 16-year-old girl volunteer at the hospital, according to Montour County District Attorney Angela Mattis.
Abraham J. Layon, 66, of Lewisburg, faces indecent assault and harassment charges.
Mattis said Monday a trial date has not been set by Judge Gary Norton.
The trial was initially scheduled for December. At that time, she said her office received a report from an expert from the defense that was unexpected.
She said the commonwealth expected to line up a rebuttal expert.
The defense, represented by attorney Frank Nocito of Kingston, also notified her office at that time that one of its witnesses would be unavailable for the trial that was to start Dec. 19.
